Basic Pistol and First Step Qualification Certification
Handgun Safety is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and firing of
a pistol. It can also be an excellent refresher for those who haven’t had any recent pistol
experience.
The class includes both classroom and range firing instructions. The classroom portion teaches
pistol parts and function, loading and unloading safely, ammunition selection and other
topics. The range section introduces how to hold the pistol, how to get the proper sight picture,
how to press the trigger and other topics.
There are three (3) different classes offered: Basic, Intermediate and Advanced.
If you are already an experienced shooter you can skip the Basic instruction and pick
Intermediate or Advanced. The course syllabus is posted on the bulletin board in the indoor range
office.
Handgun courses are taught on the last Sunday of the month. If you wish to attend this class,
download and complete BOTH pages of the “C” form application below or pick up a copy of the application at the club meeting. Bring your completed application and deposit to one of our regular scheduled club meetings between 5 and 6pm. In an effort to keep training up to date with the latest WA State gun laws, the fee for each class is $100.00 that includes a $50 deposit..
The $50.00 deposit is required when dropping off your application.
