NEW BUSINESS:
Roy reminded members of the lease property and its rules.
The club now has a solar system installed for upper range camera operation.
REMINDER: NO OUTSIDE SHOOTING AFTER DARK. IT WILL RESULT IN MEMBERSHIP SUSPENSION/TERMINATION.
Prior to introducing the new club members, Roy reminded ALL members to PLEASE shoot outside until you can hit the paper. Only then should you use the inside range.
Riley reminded members that recording (audio or video) at the monthly meeting is NOT ALLOWED.
Renewals will start in January. Renewal forms and payments are to be mailed to the club’s Post Office box in Aberdeen.
Vice President, Riley Morris, announced that he will not be seeking re-election next year. He stated that his decision was based on his planned work retirement and relocation.
Riley mentioned that his decision to run for office 10 years ago, placed him in a position that would allow him to build the range to what it is now – A FUN PLACE TO SHOOT!
He wanted to thank all the members that volunteered their oh, so much needed help, to make the ideas become a reality. Riley said that he could not have accomplished the many projects without those willing to help.
Riley reminisced to the newer members, past years, the range was used as a dumping ground for engine parts, old wire, burned out wood stoves and everything else people didn’t want to take to the land fill. All hidden behind waist high weeds. In his words, “a crap hole”. (Almost his words). (Thankfully, not the case now!)
It was announced that Trustee Roy Pauley will fill in for Riley until the next election in March 2023. The remaining Trustees will move up a notch. Member Colin Scott will fill the vacated trustee position until the new election.
Riley stated he will work with Roy on any unfinished projects and fill him in on any information he might require. He is there to support and mentor.
Dale Hensley will also be leaving his position as treasurer. Dale stated that due to the growth of the club membership, the position was requiring too much of his time. Member Shaleen Johnson stepped up and asked if she could give it a try? Club president, Jerry Charlton will have his name added to the bank account and will be assisting Shaleen during this transition.
Last, but not least, there were prizes of ammunition & miscellaneous accessories for those members who donated to the Grays Harbor Domestic Violence Center. There were some very lucky people! And for those members willing to attend the meeting in the dark of night due to being one of the shortest days of the year – the Elves brought hams to be distributed to attendees of this meeting!
OTHER BUSINESS:
Lance gave his Trap Shoot report.
The black powder group meets the 2nd Sunday of every month.

Rules Reminder indoor range
Over the last few months, we have noticed on our security cameras a breaking of our range rules when it comes to the use of pistols and rifles in the indoor range. Just a little reminder and a clarifier of the range rules.
The indoor range is a PISTOL range with exception of 22 caliber rifles. No magnum, center fire or 17 caliber ammunition allowed.
GHRPC defines a pistol or revolver as a weapon that is designed to be shot with one hand. It has no shoulder stock and no forearm support. It is a side arm.
If your pistol has a folding stock, it is a rifle. If it has a forearm grip or heat shield, it is a rifle. If it can accommodate a stock or forearm, it is a rifle. Barrel length does not change GHRPC definition of a pistol.
Smith & Wesson, Heckler and Koch, Daniel Defense and other gun manufacturers have put out a line of AR firearms calling them pistols, and they just might be, but GHRPC does not recognize these as appropriate for our indoor range.
The reason for this reminder is because of the considerable damage to the indoor range that comes from shooters not being able to control their shots. We have asked shooters to practice outside until they can at least hit the paper target. It’s not that difficult, just takes some self control.
Thank You
