Gina spoke of the Gun Safety Classes: Basic, Intermediate & Advanced. Eagle Tovar Instructor – Approved by The Gun Club Board. $100.00 per class. 50% NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT. Open to the public & members. https://graysharborgunclub.com click on the training tab. Forms to fill out at the bottom of the page. Scheduled for last Sunday of the month. Contact Eagle Tovar jjawa3@comcast.net to reserve your spot. **Indoor range may be closed during training.
Also, The Club President is the spokesman for the Club. If you feel that you need to protest/demonstrate in a public forum, that certainly is your right. But please know that you are doing this on your own behalf, NOT representing or acting on behalf of the GHR&PC.
Jake spoke on Rayonier/Promised Land Park lease property. Go to: rayonierhunting.com/ Open a new account, set up your information, save it and log out of the site. Go back into your account and “Accept Terms and Conditions” and LOG OUT. Notify Roy or Jake. DO NOT SELECT A PARCEL THAT RAYONIER PROVIDES. Roy or Jake will need to bring your application into the lease land once you have completed the account. There is 1140 acres of huntable property and 16 acres of recreation/camping at the Promised Land Park. There is a port-a-potty. Rules apply to removing garbage as there is no janitor service there. 7/30/2024, the locks on those properties will be changed. You must be current with your account and complete process with Roy or Jake. No hunting at the park. Land is not for target practice.
Jake also read the 10 rules to remind members at every meeting.
Colin spoke of renewal by USPS(snail mail). Please allow 30 days for the turn around of receiving renewal and returning to you a new key and membership card. If after 30 days you have not received anything, please check your bank account to see if your check has cleared. If it has, please contact the GunClub.
Colin also brought up volunteer projects, yard maintenance – weed eating and mowing, picking up brass, replacing the target backstops, that are installed with a few screws. Equipment is available on site. There are opportunities to have work parties as was the case to prepare Promised Land Park for usage. If you are interested in helping, please let the board know what you can help with.
Colin provided information regarding the Chevron Doctrine being overturned by congress that involves ATF, CIA, FBI, etc.
Jerry spoke of the Black Powder Group (muzzle loaders) meets the second Sunday of every Month 08/11/2024. Starts at 10:00 a.m. at the lower range. If you don’t own a black powder muzzle loader, and you are interested, come anyway.
Jerry spoke of the Pistol Club on behalf of Gary. The program begins in January 2025 for 10 weeks. Sign up is in the lobby with your name and phone number.
Lance spoke of the Trap Shoot. Generally have Trap Shoot on the First Saturday of the month 8/03/2024 and the Third Sunday of the month 8/18/2024. Start at 9:30 a.m. – noon. Bring your gun, a box of low powered shotgun shells and $5.00. Remaining dates through October are posted on the bulletin board and on the “Updates” tab on our web site. Lance 360-249-8043.
** Upper Range is Reserved for Trap Shoot only 9:00 a.m. – noon.
Roy spoke of familiarizing the locations of the emergency/trauma kits, fire extinguisher, answering the phone if you are in the indoor range (It may very well be for you!), park carefully and not on the edges of the driveway or parking lot. Thanked volunteers for the work party at the Promised Land Park on such short notice. Great Job! Reminder of the 2nd Annual Barbecue.
Riley asked whoever is pulling their used targets down and throwing them in the woodshed to PLEASE put them in the garbage can in the indoor range marked “Targets”. Brass doesn’t belong in the woodshed wheelbarrow. There is a barrel in the indoor range for brass. Replacing the target holder clips in the indoor range can be replaced with an allen wrench. Replacement clips are on site. Riley reminded folks that bullets need to hit the targets and enter the berm. We have read the message every meeting since January about not placing your own targets wherever. If you don’t follow the rules, your membership card & key will be pulled and you will have to go through orientation again. We go through this rule every meeting. Safety is our primary goal for all those in the range and out.
Lance reaffirmed that if anyone is putting up targets or down range. Take your hands off the guns, place the guns in the rack and on the bench. Do not touch them until everyone is back at the bench.
Riley explained the Mailchimp email and newsletter. It is difficult to read everyone’s correct name and email address. Please take a photo of the email address on the board, or get it from your member packet or the website. Send an email to the “gun club” with “New Member” placed in the subject line. Please put your name and in the body of the email. You will be entered in the email data base. All authentic emails will be from “Gun Club”. You will be advised of all club dates, information and closures. If you should inadvertently block or place gun club email into spam, we cannot place you back on the email list. Mailchimp is picky about this. If you use your “smart” phone to read your email, the “unsubscribe” button is very easy to hit. That action will again make it so we will not be able to add you back on the list. Genuine email from the GHR&PC with have “From: GunClub”. By recognizing the “GunClub” will prevent you opening a virus email.
New Business: None.
Potential new members were introduced:
Kyle Morgan Zachary Sexton Kim Morgan Jonathon Mills
Lance Clements Lindsey Arcange Lewis Harder Ryan Mills
Flynn Hancock Nazarero Mazariegos
10 New Members were voted in as a block.
Meeting adjourned at 7:18 p.m.

Hello GHRPC Members.
There are a few things I was asked to post.
We just received word that Rayonier ordered a Fire Ban on all of their properties. For those that plan to use the Promised Land Park, NO OPEN FIRES for now.
This is a reminder of the upcoming cookout at the range on Saturday July 20 2024 starting at 12 noon until around 2pm or so. This will be our second annual cookout. If you would like to bring something, feel free to to do so, it’s not required. Please join us, bring your family. The first one was a hoot.
We are asking for help with the weed cutting at the range. All around the building and any place else that our lawn mower cannot reach. There are weed eaters in the Maintenance Room. Your range key will unlock that door. Any help will be appreciated.
Hope all have a fun and safe 4th of July weekend.
Riley Morris

TREASURER REPORT: Shaleen gave the treasury report.
OLD BUSINESS:
The Draft Meeting Minutes of May 21, 2024, minutes were read and by vote of the membership, approved. (April Minutes were amended.)
Minutes mentioned the announcement of the 2nd Annual GHR&PC Members Cook out scheduled for Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. (noon) – 2:00 p.m. (Please don’t come early or we will put you to work!) Lower Range Will Be Closed For Shooting During Preparation, Set Up, Barbecue and Tear Down. Upper Range Will Remain Open.
NEW BUSINESS:
Jake reviewed the new club mandate for new and existing club members. The purpose behind the mandate of all members attending ONE monthly membership meeting a year is simply because members need to keep up to date on range policies and it seems some members have forgotten the basic rules of the Range. This has resulted in possible harm to members and definite damage to OUR RANGE. Going forward: A SHORT REVIEW OF THESE RULES WILL BE READ AT EVERY MEETING.
The GHR&PC Board agreed to implement a special paper punch for each Club Member’s membership card when they attend a meeting.
If you have a punched membership card, you may renew your 2024 membership at the monthly meeting or via USPS mail by sending your current punched membership card, a completed “B” form with your dues.
If you have lost your card, it can be replaced for free at the meeting and punched at the same time, or you may have a replacement membership card mailed to you for a $5.00 fee, but you will still need to attend a meeting to get your membership card punched. The Executive Board will require members to attend at least 1 meeting annually.
We recognize that some members will be exempt from this rule. Life members with disabilities, medical conditions, members that live out of county or state and members that rely on others to bring them to the range. To request an exemption referencing the above situations: Please send an email to the Gun Club with “Exemption” in the subject line. Give us a brief explanation of why you are asking for the exemption.
PLEASE KNOW WE ARE NOT ASKING FOR YOUR PRIVATE MEDICAL INFORMATION. This process requires you to be “On Your Honor” to request consideration.
The Exemption Request will be reviewed by the committee on a case-by-case basis. We will respond via email with our decision. We want to accommodate those members truly in need.
Thank you,
GHRPC Board of Directors
