DRAFT Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Grays Harbor Rifle and Pistol Club
August 20, 2024
The Meeting was called to order at 6:30p.m. by President Riley Morris.

TREASURER REPORT: Shaleen gave the treasury report.
OLD BUSINESS:
The Draft Meeting Minutes of July 16, 2024, minutes were read and approved by vote of the Membership.
NEW BUSINESS:
Riley reviewed the Rules that are typical offenses by some individuals. He warned of the consequences of violating those Rules. If you violate the Rules: Your Key and Membership card will be revoked until you have attended an additional General GHR&PC Monthly Meeting and completed an additional Orientation Meeting.
- Thanked Club Members for attending our 2nd annual BBQ.
- Informed the group of several upcoming work party projects that need to be scheduled,
- Instructed Club Members during future events (ie: trap shoot, Black Powder, etc.) the gates will now remain closed until the event is over.
- Please dispose of used targets in the indoor range ‘Used Target Garbage Can’, NOT the woodshed.
OTHER BUSINESS:
Roy thanked:
Ron Blood for repairing our gate, John Pauley for maintaining the parking lot.
Brian and John Huber for taking over the lawn maintenance.
They’re all doing a great job!
Colin reminded All Club Members that it takes volunteers to help maintain our club.
Shayleen Reminded members renewing via USPS please check the status of your payment with your bank prior to contacting her regarding new Membership card and key. Please allow 30 days for your card and key to arrive. The renewal grace period is 3 months, after the grace period, you must re-apply and complete orientation again
Jake announced that the locks have been changed on the Rayonier/Promised Land Park.
– gave instructions on how to apply and register with Rayonier, (There’s a tip.)
– Members need to complete the process with Roy. The entire process MUST be completed to obtain your window sticker & key for the lease land.
– NO HUNTING AT THE RANGE OR IN THE PROMISED LAND PARK.
- Reviewed the Club’s Rules with new and existing members.
Gina: reviewed the firearms safety registration process and instructions for payment.
– Basic, Intermediate or Advanced Pistol and First Step Qualification Course: The course cost is $100.00 per person, per class with a $50.00 deposit at the prior Club meeting (with completed forms) given to Riley or Roy prior to 6:00 p.m. Balance of $50.00 due at class. The class size is limited to 8-10 people. The class is on our website under the “TRAINING TAB”. This class is open to Club Members and the public.
– Announced the Fall guest speakers list. They will be Legislative Representative Jim Walsh of the 19th District, GH County Commissioner Vickie Raines and GH County Sheriff Darrin Wallace.
Two Members encouraged everyone to get registered to vote and vote in the election(s)!

If you see damage or have an accident on the range, please notify Roy or Riley IMMEDIATELY!
TRAP SHOOT: Generally, Trap Shoots are scheduled for the third Sunday of each month, with an occasional Saturday added. Bring $5.00 and a box of shells. If you win, you’ll win your $5.00 back. Dates are posted on our website calendar. NOTE: UPPER RANGE WILL BE CLOSED 9:00 am-12:00 pm. For more Trap Shoot information call Lance Fry @ 360-249-8043
BLACK POWDER GROUP: Meets on the 2nd Sunday of every month.
PISTOL LEAGUE: Meets Jan-. Practice begins in December with a start date of the 2nd Monday in January (1/8/25) and continues for 10 weeks.
BMG (Specifically Browning): Contact Dale Hensley.
A total of 18 prospective members submitted their applications and introduced themselves to the Membership. Applicants were approved by The Membership & voted in as a block.
